First Weeks Home!

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. ~Proverbs 22:1

Introducing:
Eden Avalon Elam
Dec. 27th, 8:20am
6lbs 4oz
18.5 inches

Eden
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: Delight, Delightful, Paradise
Biblical: The name of God's garden paradise for Adam and Eve.

We have loved the name Eden since we heard it, and loved it even more once we realized the meaning of it! It is our prayer that this baby girl will be a joy and delight to the world around her, but more importantly, that she will always find her delight in the Lord.

Avalon
Origin: Welsh
Meaning: Island, Island of Apples

Avalon is Brandon's grandfather's middle name, and they have a very special relationship. We love the name and think it suits our baby girl perfectly!

I have been meaning to get on here for days and reflect on some of the wonderful things that have happened since Eden arrived! The last two weeks have been an absolute whirlwind of visits from friends and family, errands, and of course, lot's and lot's of feeding! (and trying to catch up on sleep in between times). But it's also been tons of fun! Here are a couple of photos from our first couple weeks!
The day after Eden was born, A&M played a bowl game. Her daddy was really excited that Eden already had her Aggie gear ready to go so that she could show her team spirit! Here she is napping in her Aggie hat!

And here is a picture of Eden and her daddy, ready to watch her first bowl game on tv. Her granddaddy said that Eden must not have cheered loud enough as the Aggies lost.

Here is Eden all dressed up and ready to go home! She is wearing the dress her mommy wore home from the hospital, and the bonnet her dad wore home!

Here is Eden meeting her 'brother and sister' for the first time! Scarlett was definitely excited to meet her! Red was not so sure, he is still trying to get used to the idea that he is no longer the baby!

Here is a picture of Eden's Mimi and Grandaddy!

Here is a picture of one of Eden's first baths. She is not a huge fan yet, but I know in a short while she will love them!

Here is a picture of New Year's Eve! We were in the middle of a diaper change when daddy grabbed us to come downstairs. We got there just in time!

And finally a picture of Eden in her little bear outfit from her Grandmother Elam! She is just a little thing, so she doesn't fit newborn outfits yet. Her grandmother has been sending her lot's of warm, snuggly preemie and small newborn pjs so that she can stay warm!

We are having lot's of fun!

  2. So precious! I love that you got a pic in front of the T.V. I wish we had thought of that last year- this year Brayden was sound asleep!
